Okie dokie. It's no big surprise I'm a huge Feng Zhu fan and have learned a ton from his youtube channel. Feng likes to stress how important fundamentals are and for the most part throws down awesome work with default brushes.
Probably the number one comment I see on his vids is people whining for him to share his brushes. Aside from his weird crystal brush he uses a flat bristle that I scoured PS looking for thinking I would play around with it (negating the need to whine with everyone else). Let's face it, sometimes it's really fun to play around with a new brush, especially one that leads to lot's of "happy accidents" as he likes to say.
So: I finally just broke down and made a close approximation. Again, this is a tool, not an art generator, lol... That said, it's a pretty fun tool and I blasted out the base image above just while I was playing around with it.
I made it pretty beefy because I think it's used to best effect laying down forms. I created it in ps5 so I'd imagine it will work with any of the CS series. That said, I also included the footprint up there at the top. Send me a pm for the full image size if you'd like it.
Spacing is set at 4% so it doesn't chug too much w/o losing any noticeable flow.
Opacity is set to pen pressure, but that's just a personal preference, I know Feng likes to adjust manually, but it all boils down to what's most comfortable and what's fastest for you.
Opacity jitter is nudged to 7% for a little bit of bite on the canvas. You can play with that a little if you'd like a little more texture.
Otherwise... enjoy, and lemme know if you like it. I never know if people like weird experiments like this? Also, to stress the above point, brushes are a tool, you never need to credit me for using any brushes I create and give out freely.
